3TC is used in combination with other medications to treat the infection caused by the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV). HIV is the virus responsible for acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS). 3TC is one of a class of medications called nucleoside reverse transcriptase inhibitors (NRTIs). 3TC is an anti-HIV treatment in the class of drugs called Nucleoside Reverse Transcriptase Inhibitors. 3TC overdose

Seek emergency medical attention. Symptoms of a 3TC overdose are not known. Take the missed dose as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and take only the next regularly scheduled dose. Do not take a double dose of this medication unless your doctor directs otherwise.

3TC usage guidelines

Take this medicine exactly as directed by your doctor. If you do not understand these directions, ask your pharmacist, nurse, or doctor to explain them to you. Take each dose with a full glass of water. 3TC can be taken with or without food.
