Egomycol uses

Egomycol consists of Benzoic Acid, Chlorhexidine Gluconate, Resorcinol, Salicylic Acid, Undecylenic Alkanolamide.

Benzoic Acid:


Precautions

Ingredients

E124, E133, Ethanol, Organic Acids (Acetic and Egomycol (Benzoic Acid)), Polyvinylpyrrolidone, Tea-tree Oil, Triacetin, Water

Instructions for use

  • For use in sheep, cattle, horses and goats
  • Clean and dry hooves thoroughly before use
  • Pare hoof if necessary
  • Shake container well and spray liberally
  • Allow 1-2 minutes for the Combat film to form, before returning hoof to the ground
  • For severe cases in sheep repeat application every 2 days for 1 week
  • For severe cases in cattle apply several layers of Combat after each milking for up to 10 days

NB: Always separate sheep with hoof problems from those without

Combat Footspray should be used as part of a routine footcare programme. Ideally use in conjunction with regular footbathing with Provita Hoofsure/Hoofsure Endurance.

Pharmacological action

Egomycol is an antiseptic agent. Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) is active against vegetative forms of gram-negative and gram-positive bacteria and yeasts, dermatophytes and lipophilic viruses. This medicine has effect for bacterial spores only at elevated temperatures. It cleans and disinfects the skin without causing damage.

Why is Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) prescribed?

For local use of Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) Pharmaniaga: trichomonas coleitis, cervical erosion, itching of the vulva, prevention of sexually transmitted diseases (including gonorrhea, syphilis, trichomoniasis, chlamydia, ureaplasmosis); gingivitis, stomatitis, aphthae, paradont, alveolitis, disinfection of removable dentures, sore throat; postoperative care for patients in ENT and dentistry.

Treatment of wounds, burn wounds and surfaces, disinfection of the patient's skin.

Treatment of surgeons', nurses' hands and operating field before diagnostic manipulation operation.

Disinfection of work surfaces of devices (including thermometers) and equipment which heat treatment is not desirable.

Dosage and administration

The dose and method of Egomycol application depend on the testimony and dosage form of Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate).

Use only locally. 0,5% alcohol or 1% aqueous solution for 2-5 min is applied to the corresponding surface. In dentistry solution for mouthwash and gel are prescribed 2-3 times a day.

Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) side effects, adverse reactions

Perhaps allergic reaction. Dry and itchy skin, dermatitis, stickiness of hands for 3-5 min, stained teeth, the deposition of tartar, breach of taste (in the treatment of gingivitis).

Egomycol contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate), dermatitis, allergic reactions.

Special instructions

Remains active in the presence of impurities of blood and organic matter. Should not enter the Egomycol in the eye (except for special dosage form prescribed for washing the eye), as well as contact with the meninges and the auditory nerve.

Avoid using Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) with iodine preparations.

Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) drug interactions

Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) is incompatible with the soap, and detergents containing anionic group (saponins, sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium carboxymethyl cellulose).

Egomycol (Chlorhexidine Gluconate) is compatible with any medication containing cationic group (cetrimonium bromide, benzalkonium chloride).

Salicylic Acid:


Pharmacological action

Egomycol is pharmaceytical active ingredient for topical use. Inhibits the secretion of the sebaceous and sweat glands. At low concentrations it has keratoplastic and in high doses keratolytic effect. Egomycol (Salicylic Acid) has a weak antimicrobial activity.

Why is Egomycol (Salicylic Acid) prescribed?

Monotherapy with Egomycol (Salicylic Acid) and as part of combination therapies for inflammatory, infectious and other skin lesions, including burns, psoriasis, eczema, dyskeratosis, ichthyosis, acne vulgaris, warts, hyperkeratosis, corn, callus, oily seborrhea, scaly skin disease, hair loss, sweating feet.

Dosage and administration

Egomycol is applied to the skin surface 2-3 times / day.

Egomycol (Salicylic Acid) side effects, adverse reactions

Rarely: local reactions such as itching, burning, skin rashes, allergic reactions.

Egomycol contraindications

Hypersensitivity to Egomycol (Salicylic Acid), renal failure, infancy.

Special instructions

The composition of the solution for topical use include ethanol.
