Pharmacological action
Pentazole is a worming medication a broad spectrum of action, it is most effective when enterobioze. This drug causes irreversible disturbance of glucose utilization in the body of the worm and inhibits the synthesis of ATP.
Pharmacokinetics

Dosage and administration
For adults and children over 10 years at enterobioze a single dose is 100 mg.
For children aged 2 to 10 years a single dose is 25-50 mg. In the case of a high probability of re-infestation the drug taking repeats after 2-4 weeks in the same dose.

When ascariasis, trichuriasis, hookworm disease, teniasis, strongyloidiasis and mixed helminthiasis - 100 mg in the morning and evening for 3 days. When trichinosis - 200-400 mg 3 times / day for 3 days, from 4th to 10th day - 400-500 mg 3 times / day. When echinococcosis - 500 mg 2 times / day in the first 3 days, then the same dose 3 times / day in the next 3 days. Later Pentazole used in doses of 25-30 mg / kg / day in 3-4 doses.
Pentazole side effects, adverse reactions
Digestive system: rarely - nausea, abdominal pain; when used in high doses for long periods of time may be vomiting, diarrhea, transient elevation of liver enzymes in serum.
CNS: Rarely - dizziness when used in high doses for long periods of time - a headache.
Hematopoietic system: when used in high doses for long periods of time may be leukopenia, anemia, eosinophilia.
Urinary system: when used in high doses for long periods of time - hematuria, cylindruria.
Other: when used in high doses for long periods of time - an allergic reaction, hair loss.
Pentazole contraindications
Pronounced liver disfunctions, pregnancy, lactation, children under 2 years of age, hypersensitivity to Pentazole.
Using during pregnancy and breastfeeding
Pentazole is contraindicated during pregnancy and lactation (breastfeeding).

Special instructions
With prolonged use of Pentazole it is necessary to control the peripheral blood picture, liver and kidney function.
